Mar 13, 2026 - Confidence, Creativity and Student Voice

There is a real sense of excitement building across the school as we prepare for two special end-of-term events: our Talent Show and the Primary Time Travellers Event. Alongside these highlights, this week’s newsletter celebrates student leadership, future-focused learning, and the many ways our pupils continue to grow in confidence and responsibility.

🎭 Talent Show – Wednesday 25 March

Excitement is building at Si Ri Panya as we prepare for our whole-school Talent Show, taking place in the Sports Hall on Wednesday 25 March.

Over the past few weeks, pupils from both primary and secondary have been busy rehearsing a wide range of performances, and the programme promises a lively afternoon of music, dance, gymnastics, circus skills, piano and live band performances. It will be a joyful celebration of creativity, confidence and teamwork, with students from across the school taking to the stage to share their talents.

The event will be hosted by our Year 6 student presenters, who will guide the audience through the afternoon’s performances and help keep the show moving smoothly.

A community effort

Events like this are only possible thanks to the support of our staff, parent volunteers and external activity teachers, who have helped pupils prepare their performances and organise the event behind the scenes.

We look forward to welcoming families for what promises to be a vibrant and memorable afternoon celebrating the many talents of our students.

Year 1 design windmills for Design Technology Week

This week, Year 1 enjoyed making windmills by following step-by-step instructions. As they worked, they realised their designs needed to be stronger, so they thoughtfully adapted them, exploring different shapes and sizes to improve the final result.

Artistic Scenes: Secondary Printmaking Workshop at Indigo Coral House

A full creative immersion experience at Indigo Coral House.

This week is full of creativity as we take a look at a recent printmaking workshop attended by some of our Secondary students at Indigo Coral House.

Building on last week’s exploration of weaving with natural materials, students took part in the second stage of the experience: fabric printing. Using hammers and other craft tools, they transferred colour and texture from leaves and other natural elements onto fabric, creating a range of beautifully organic designs.

Photos of the Week: Primary Photography Club

with Teacher Simon

This week, Primary’s Photography Club headed to Ban Tai Beach on a photography excursion, exploring the area in search of interesting subjects to capture. It was a lovely opportunity for pupils to practise their observation and composition skills outdoors, and we are delighted to share some of the results here.

Secondary PSHE - Thinking About the Future

Year 7 are trying out their transferrable skills for future careers in PSHE. Recently they have been trying back to back drawing, categories and drawing a line to an exact measurement to test out their communication and problem solving skills.

Internet Safety - Year 9 Assembly for Primary Learners

As part of their Digital Literacy learning this term, Year 9 students have been thinking about online safety, and especially how to make sure that even young children know what they need to be do to keep themselves safe online. Year 9 designed a whole assembly aimed at Primary-level students to teach them about this important subject in a fun way, including a section for the youngest classes with a cartoon character called Leo the Lion, and more detailed advice for the older Primary classes, followed by a quiz that got everyone involved.

Last week Year 9 tested out their assembly in front of the Year 6 class, who gave some useful feedback about what they liked and what the Year 9s could do to make their assembly even more engaging.

The next step will be to share the assembly with the younger years - we think they're going to love it!

Student Voice Growing Across the School

Student voice is an important part of school life at Si Ri Panya, and our well-established Secondary Student Council has already shown how valuable this can be. Through regular meetings, students share ideas and suggestions, discuss them with school leaders, and then see outcomes fed back to their classes.

This term, we have been pleased to build on that success by introducing our Primary Student Council for Years 1–6.

To help make this a strong start, our Year 5 and Year 6 representatives first spent time learning from the secondary model. They joined secondary form discussions and council meetings so they could see how student voice is gathered, discussed and taken forward. This gave them a clear understanding of their role and helped prepare them to lead the process in primary.

It has already made a difference. In a recent primary meeting, students raised the question of whether there could be a little more flexibility in the school’s jewellery rules. After discussion, it was agreed that small hoop earrings which closely hug the ear may now be worn, provided they remain safe and do not hang away from the earlobe. This change will be reflected in the updated Uniform Policy and

Family Handbook.

This may seem like a small adjustment, but it is a meaningful example of student voice in action. It shows our pupils that their ideas are listened to, considered carefully and, where appropriate, can help shape school life.

We are proud of the thoughtful and responsible way our students are engaging in this process, and we look forward to seeing both councils continue to grow in strength over the year.
