Welcome to our Friday May 22nd 2025 Newsletter (issue 12).
As we break up for our half-term holiday, it's the perfect moment to pause and celebrate some of the beautiful, in-depth work our students have been engaged in. We’re delighted to share a glimpse into the vibrant learning taking place across the school. It’s always a joy to witness our hardworking learners in action, and we hope you enjoy browsing through this week’s gallery of photos.
Wishing all our families a restful and enjoyable holiday!
We return to school, Monday 2nd June, so we look forward to seeing you then!
Year 3 - Saving the Planet: Environmental Diorama's and a Poster Campaign
As part of their subject deep-dive into saving the planet, Year 3 have been looking at the effects of pollution and industry on the environment. These wonderful, colourful and well-executed three-dimensional models show off some real collaborative research and thinking around the topic.
Our pupils took great pride in carefully bringing their models to school, and we'd like to thank parents for supporting and encouraging Y3's to enjoy and achieve, even when at relaxing doing their homework. These models show a real committment to the topic of understanding pollution and if we can understand it, we can do something about it and take action to care for the world we live in.
Shining this week's Spotlight on Year 3 Maths
Year 3 superstars are under the spotlight again in this week's newsletter! As Head of Primary, one of my jobs is to walk around the school and keep up with all the hard work that's going on. During this particular Learning Walk, I was so impressed by what I saw.
Working in pairs, our pupils were fully engaged and not distracted at all by the presence of their headteacher taking a look at what they were doing while they were in action! This was wonderful to see. Being "on task" was their norm.
They worked on sums that used both numbers and words, and they looked genuinely mesmerised. It reminded me that while not everybodies favourite subject, maths is actually really cool!
Secondary International Culture Day
We are proud of our diverse and multicultural school community, and our annual International Culture Day has become a popular event on the calendar. This is an opportunity for students and their families to come together to share and celebrate the many different cultures that they bring to the Si Ri Panya family.
Students worked together to share information about their home countries and cultures, but enjoyment was at the top of the agenda, and everyone contributed to the two elements that put smiles on people's faces - music and food! With music from every country as a backdrop, students and parents enjoyed a feast of different tastes, loving the familiar flavours and trying new things. This was a real-life example of what a powerful bonding experience sharing food can be - and we hope that our students will remember this as they journey through life, and how important shared food and an open heart can be.

not a higher fence"
What Do Sound Waves Look Like?
Year 7 have been learning about the different senses in Science, and were given an assignment where they could either Remember, Analyse or Create to show their understanding of Sound Waves. They had 30 minutes to complete the tasks, and it is amazing what the creative students were able to produce in that time - making a model that shows information in a clear and fun way, with the clock ticking, is an example of a skill that our students will find useful in the future, as well as helping to reinforce their learning. Great job, Year 7!
