Welcome to our first newsletter & value of Term 3: Respectful.
We are excited to be back, for what promises to be an action packed term full to the brim of enjoyable activities and lots of learning. As well as our regular learning endeavours and cross curricula investigations, some of our students will soon get to venture further afield on trips off the island as we take our lessons outside of the classroom and into the world around us.
In Primary & Secondary, we launched this term's value: Respectful.
As the year draws to a close, our expectation is that students should increasingly embody the values we hold dear together as members of Si Ri Panya's school community.
Today in our primary assembly, Teacher Dean and the Head of Primary spoke about the different ways we can show respect. We explored what it means to be "respectful" and our students demonstrated their understanding of the concept by their impeccable conduct.
Students discussed ways that they could be more respectful in school towards each other, as Aretha Franklin's classic hit "Repect" played out in the background.
Today's assembly proved that our students are well on the way to nailing this value, evidenced in their ability to listen, contribute to a whole school discussion and by making the right choice to sit respectfully throughout the session.
Saving the Planet: Conservation, Animal Habitats - Year 3's trip to Koh Phangan's Elephant Sanctuary
Saving the Planet sounds like a huge endeavour, but as global citizens who are committed to working together by learning in an international school setting, it is real to us! In order to do this, we know we have to care in ways that are way beyond the ordinary.
This week, for starters, Year 3 headed to the Elephant Sanctuary to see close up how these rescue elephants are adjusting and enjoying island life. They had an hour long tour with Q & A sessions and learned about what these ginormous animals eat, as well as other fun facts about elephant's lives and the habitat they live in here. Have a glimpse at the pictures below.
📅Have Your Say, the Si Ri Panya Way ☕️
We warmly invite all parents to the Term 3 Parent & Friends Committee Meeting on Friday 9th May, 9:30–10:30am at Baan Manali Resort (map link: Baan Manali Resort).
This is your chance to share ideas, raise concerns, and stay connected through your Parent & Friends Committee—a vital link between families, teachers, school management, and the Executive Board.
Your current parent representatives are:
Mr. Doron Lariv (Y3 & Y5)
Ms. Idit Reizner (Y2, Y6 & Y8)
Ms. Phavika Palsingh (Rupa) (Y7)
Mr. Brian Jay (Parent of former pupil)
Thank you to all our dedicated parent reps for their continued support. We hope to see many of you there—your voice matters!
🎯Lower Secondary Checkpoint Exams
As a registered Cambridge International Exam Centre, Si Ri Panya is able to offer all of our students a wide range of Cambridge external exams. These exams are internationally-recognised qualifications, meaning that our students can earn certificates to show what they have achieved that they can use anywhere in the world.
A number of our Year 9 students are sitting our first ever external exams this week, the Lower Secondary Checkpoint exams in Maths, English and Science. They have been working extremely hard to prepare for these, and we hope that the results will help them to think about next steps.
📸 Whole School Photo – Now Available to Download!
We’re delighted to share this year’s Whole School (Primary & Secondary) Photo, now ready for download.
A huge thank you to Frederic from Luna Lounge in Thong Nai Pan Noi, who has generously volunteered his time and talent each year to take our school photos free of charge. It’s thanks to his kindness that we’re able to provide these to families at no cost.
We hope you enjoy this special keepsake!
🍽️ Updated Term 3 Lunch Menu Now Live!
We’ve made a few tasty tweaks to the school lunch menu for Term 3 based on student feedback. You can view the updated menu on our website here: 👉 siripanya.com/school-meals
What’s new?Highlights include the introduction of chicken hamburg with mash, penne alla carbonara, and a plant-based spaghetti marinara. We've also refined a few dishes to improve popularity, including new options for spicy meals and vegetarian alternatives.
Please take a moment to view the full menu and talk with your child about the new options available each week.
🎈One Party, Two Big Moments – Parent Power Needed!💪
At last term’s Parent Meeting, the Parent & Friends Committee decided to combine the Year 6 “Welcome to Secondary” celebration with the Year 9 Farewell Party. Students from Years 7 & 8 will also be invited!
A big thank you to Ms. Idit Reizner and Ms. Irina Raskin for volunteering to organise the event. 🛠️ They’ll need a team of parent helpers to make it happen—this is a Parent & Friends Committee event, not a school-run one. If you can help, please contact info@siripanya.com
