Welcome to our Friday June 27th 2025 Newsletter (issue 16).
Charity Begins at Home & School!
The old adage charity begins at home is very much part of school life for us here at Si Ri Panya, our home-from-home and as such, making a positive contribution to our community through fundraising activities, continues to be one of our top priorities.
It will come as no surprise then that last week, Nicola, our school director and Teacher Faye--who leads and takes care of our school's charity committee Si Ri Panya Change Makers and charity fundraising events--visited a local school to donate dozens of pairs of brand new sports shoes.
In recent weeks the group also donated dog and cat food to SUSA a.k.a Support Us Support Animals, a charity group doing the kind jobs of taking care of the needs of stray animals on the island.
The shoes and food was purchased with the proceeds from art sales as well as various donations given throughout the day via our gazebo style stalls during our last end-of-term event Through the Eyes of An Artist.
Students featured below, who represented the school, got to spend time with local students, and got a real taste of what school-life is like elsewhere on the island.
We thought this was a valueable way for our students to broaden their learning and see first hand what a good impact they are making to the lives of others in our community.
Have a look for yourselves through this inspiring picture gallery.

Meet Our Teaching Team for 2025-26 academic year

We’re pleased to announce that our teaching team for the new 2025-26 academic year is now available to view on our website, with photos and short bios for each teacher. Meet the team here:
Our new staff members bring a range of international teaching experience and strong academic backgrounds. We look forward to the contribution they will make to the school community as we begin the new academic year.
Year 8 & 9: watch out MasterChef!
Our students have been working hard in their Food Technology classes to develop both their knowledge about healthy eating, and their skills in the kitchen. These students will be ready and eating well when they leave home to begin independent living!
Fresh out of the Year 8 bakery: last week, we were treated to Marble Cakes worthy of The Great British Bake Off! Our young chefs were whisking, swirling, and baking like pros. We’re beyond proud of their delicious creations!
This week, teachers were invited to help judge the final assessment from Year 9 - and they really cooked up a storm today! From creamy tagliatelle with steak and indulgent mac ‘n’ cheese, to classic lasagna and delicious chocolate chip cookies, the competition was fierce — and the staff judges were very happy to taste it all!
