March 27th - Community in Action
This week, our focus has been on community.
Across the school, this has been clearly reflected in the preparation for our upcoming Time Travellers Event and, most notably, in the success of our second School Talent Show.
The Talent Show was a genuine whole-school event. Students from Primary and Secondary performed to an audience of peers and parents, showcasing a remarkable range of talents including dance, gymnastics, unicycling and live performances.
More importantly, the event was a collective effort. A dedicated group of parents worked closely with students to design, organise and deliver the show, bringing a level of professionalism, creativity and energy that elevated the entire experience.
We were particularly struck by the breadth of talent developed beyond the classroom, as well as the level of support students receive from experienced performers within our island community.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all parents who contributed their time, expertise and commitment. We are also grateful to Indigo Restaurant and Channa Masala for providing food and refreshments, helping to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all.
Events like this highlight what makes Si Ri Panya special. The care, collaboration and shared ownership across our community were evident throughout.
The Talent Show now looks set to become a valued annual tradition—one we can continue to develop year on year.
Well done to all who took part, and thank you to everyone who made the event such a success.

If your child is interested in developing their performance or drama skills further, our Drama Club offers structured guidance and opportunities to grow.

Si Ri Panya International School Approved as a BTEC Centre
Si Ri Panya International School has been approved as a Pearson BTEC centre, marking a significant step in the continued development of our Secondary provision.
From September 2026, we will begin offering BTEC Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications in Sport, Art and Design, and Business.

BTEC qualifications provide a practical, coursework-based pathway that sits alongside our existing IGCSE options. They are designed to support students who benefit from applied learning, allowing them to develop subject knowledge through real-world contexts, projects, and ongoing assessment rather than solely through final examinations.
These qualifications are widely recognised internationally and form part of the curriculum in many leading international schools. They offer a clear route into further study and future careers, particularly for students who thrive through practical application and sustained coursework.
As a small school, this development further strengthens our personalised approach. Students are able to choose pathways that align with their strengths, interests, and long-term goals, ensuring that each learner is supported in a way that is both appropriate and ambitious.
Further information about our Upper Secondary (KS4) curriculum, including both BTEC and IGCSE pathways, can be found here:https://www.siripanya.com/upper-secondary-ks4-curriculum
We will also be hosting a parent information session:
Planning Ahead for Years 10 and 11 - Tuesday 1 April, 09:30
This session is designed for Year 7 and Year 8 families who would like to understand the pathways available in Years 10–11 and begin planning ahead. Year 9 families have already received this information separately. The session will include an overview of both BTEC and IGCSE options, along with an opportunity to ask questions.
We look forward to introducing these opportunities to our students from September 2026.
Year 8 Residential Trip to Khao Sok – Into the Wild

Year 8 had a truly memorable trip to Khao Sok over the weekend, with four days packed with new and exciting experiences - meeting wildlife up close in their natural environments, learning about the history and ecology of this previous resource, and a whole range of activities focused on the theme of Interconnectedness.
Highlights included cooking a fabulous dinner, seeing elephants and sun bears in the wild, meeting a large group of monkeys in the mangroves, creating our own decorated cloths using leaf printing and learning how to make fire.
Best of all, we all got to spend time together, and build our own interconnectedness with each other. Residential trips are an experience that we never forget, and it was a real pleasure to take these fine young people on such great adventures - we look forward to many more in the future!
Outdoor Maths and Reading Experiences (Year 1 & Year 3)
Year 1 have been exploring mass and measurement through practical, play-based learning using metre sticks and real-world tasks.
They have also enjoyed reading sessions with Year 3, strengthening both literacy skills and cross-year relationships.
Meanwhile, Year 3 have been learning about volume and capacity, using practical measurement to understand concepts such as “half full” and “full to capacity,” and converting between litres and millilitres.
Learning outdoors on our green campus continues to support engagement and helps students connect academic concepts to real-life contexts.

A Year 6 Journey into the work of artist, David Hockney

Year 6 have been studying the work of David Hockney, using his distinctive style as inspiration for their own landscape artwork.
Students explored:
Use of colour
Form and composition
Techniques to create depth and perspective
Hockney, one of Britain’s most influential contemporary artists, is well known for works such as A Bigger Splash (1967), which demonstrates his fascination with light, water and fleeting moments.
This project has encouraged students to think critically about artistic technique while developing their own creative expression.
