Si Ri Panya Trasparent subject backgroun

Si Ri Panya International School welcomes students for whom English is not their first language.

Our English as an Additional Language (EAL) support programme is designed to ensure that every student who joins our community will thrive here.

During the initial admissions process the English proficiency of each student is evaluated before entry to the school; those identified as needing some extra help will join one of our small EAL support groups. Students will continue in their EAL support group there until they reach a stage at which teachers feel their English is proficient enough to cope with the demands of the curriculum. At this stage they are able to leave the specialist EAL support.

OUR EAL SUPPORT PROGRAMME

For those children who are in the early stages of acquiring the English language they will join a small EAL support group of 1-3 children after school 3-4pm.

The extra EAL support will help them to make faster progress in learning English so they can begin to access the classroom teaching and learning.

In addition to the intensive EAL support groups all our teachers provide in-class support to students whose first language is not English. We ensure that the planning and delivery of lessons takes into account the specific needs of our EAL students.
